Most of Milan’s finest hotels stand within a short walk of La Scala and the Via Montenapoleone. Mandarin Oriental fills a group of palazzi on the Via Andegari; the Four Seasons occupies a former convent on the Via Gesù; Bulgari and Armani, two of the city’s great names, run hotels of their own. The Grand Hotel et de Milan has stood on the Via Manzoni since 1863. Further north, by the Piazza della Repubblica and the Stazione Centrale, are the grand hotels of the railway age, and in Porta Nuova the towers of the new Milan.
The Quadrilatero and La Scala
Mandarin Oriental, Milan is at Via Andegari 9, behind La Scala; its restaurant Seta by Antonio Guida holds Two MICHELIN Stars in the 2026 guide. The Four Seasons Hotel Milano is at Via Gesù 8, in a 15th-century former convent off the Via Montenapoleone. The Armani Hotel Milano is at Via Manzoni 31 and the Bvlgari Hotel Milano on the private Via Fratelli Gabba, beside the Brera botanical garden. The Grand Hotel et de Milan, at Via Manzoni 29, has been “historically fashionable since 1863”, in its own words. The Carlton, a Rocco Forte hotel, opened at Via Senato 5 in November 2025.

Park Hyatt Milano is at Via Tommaso Grossi 1, beside the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II; Galleria Vik Milano has rooms inside the Galleria itself, at Via Silvio Pellico 8.
You don’t need a room: book dinner at Seta or a drink at Gerry’s Bar.
Porta Venezia and the Giardini
Portrait Milano, Lungarno Collection, fills the former archiepiscopal seminary at Corso Venezia 11. Palazzo Parigi Hotel & Grand Spa is at Corso di Porta Nuova 1, Casa Cipriani Milano at Via Palestro 24, and Senato Hotel Milano at Via Senato 22.
Centrale and Porta Nuova
The Excelsior Hotel Gallia, a Luxury Collection hotel opened in 1932, faces the Stazione Centrale from Piazza Duca d’Aosta 9, with Terrazza Gallia on its roof. The Hotel Principe di Savoia, Dorchester Collection, is on the Piazza della Repubblica; it has announced a long restoration from January 2027, so check its site before you book.
Our advice: for a first visit, stay between La Scala and the Via Montenapoleone and walk everywhere.
